What kind of gamer are you? Do you rage quit when things get hard or are you more the cozy simulation type? Do you spend all your free time playing, or do you have stacks of games waiting to be played? Do you hunt achievements, or do you just go with the flow? Well, no matter what type of gamer you are, we know one thing for certain: you like video games. Here are some earrings that are inspired by our love for video games.

Let’s start off with a classic platformer featuring everyone’s favorite plumber. Whether he is having a party with friends, racing go karts, or brawling with other characters you've heard of this famous plumbing family. In a recent game, it was all about some Wonderful Flowers and their Seeds. We thought these fit our natural inspirations, and we are kind of suckers for things with cute faces, so we couldn’t resist.

Another popular franchise with a cute playable protagonist lends itself as inspiration. Sometimes alongside our plumber friend, but in his own series. An ever hungry pink blob, but just a little guy. I mentioned we like cute characters, so we might have gone overboard here. Our designs started small with some Studs. Then we wanted to make sure to capture his face just right. Next, we did what good devs do and made him a new skin. However, none of these showed off what this little guy could do. He can Fly, he rides on stars, and he can absorb other characters’ powers. You might think we stopped here, but we didn’t give him anything to eat, so we had to make him some Candy.

It would be impossible to talk about our love for video games without mentioning a certain monster filled series. The hours spent catching them all, becoming masters, and filling out our list of all the existing species. With over 1,000 different creatures there are so many chances for inspiration. We have enjoyed making some ghosts, their shiny counterparts, and even some in costumes. We’ve let our love for cute little guys win with some snow worms and some olives. We’ve made their storage balls. We even went so far as to make some Brooches to help heal them. It’s hard to remember all of the designs we created of these monsters and there might always be more in the future.

We liked the last game series, but the battling can get exhausting and trying to find every single monster can be time consuming. So, in a similar monster collecting vein but a more relaxed setting is what we craved. In this game you can find monsters, but you need to lure them by improving the area. Also, instead of violence there are dance battles. We made club tokens that you can earn in game, instead of badges. There is a club for those who love the outdoors, and one for people who love cute things. These perfectly matched our aesthetic so we had to make them.
-
In another game we like, you need to collect things, everything to be precise. You use a moving hole to collect everything and it all gets categorized in an encyclopedia of trash. The game had an interesting phrase we fell in love with. It tells the player to “Have a Garbage Day!”. We turned that phrase into earrings.

If you follow us you might know we really liked a roguelite where you play as a lamb and start a cult. We’ve made three pairs of earrings that feature the main character, the co-op character and their accessories. We talk about them a lot, but there was a different roguelite that we were obsessed with years earlier. In this one you play as the child of a god, getting help from your extended family to fight through the underworld and find your mother. After playing it so much we made earrings of the Laurel the characters wear, and made that design into a brooch as well.

The fast paced fighting games are fun, but more often than not we prefer a cozier experience. In one of our favorite games of all time we get to live out a bunch of different fantasies. Owning a home ( left to you by your deceased grandpa), becoming rich, and single handedly leading to the downfall of the capitalist invading this cozy town. We often show off stardrops, or the magical forest spirits that help to restore the community center and town, but we have many more designs. When you first get to the farm you are given Parsnips to grow, you can get a Horse to help speed travel along, and you can adopt a pet. We couldn’t really choose so we made a Cat and a Dog. There is also an interesting breed of Chicken you can raise.
No matter what kind of games you like, we hope you get time to play them. May your speed runs be swift, may there be guides to assist you, and may you have all the extra lives you can bank.
